In September we went at Villecroze (in the south of France) to visit their troglodyte caves, from the 16th century.
After one hour by car, what a discovery! Several larges caves, with functional purpose (a granary, stables, …), and even an underground lake.
Nobody ever lives their permanently, but the place is impressive.
“Head off to explore …”
“Olala ! C’est haut!”
“Wow! It’s high!”
“Rocks are beautiful”
“It’s dark here …”
Troglodyte caves are surrounded by a nice park, we ate our picnic there, in the sun.
